Paying your tuition fee

You are required to pay the tuition fee for every academic year that you are enrolled as a student at Zuyd University, even if you are only doing your work placement/internship [stage].

When do you need to pay?
Your tuition fee must be paid before 1 September.

Payment options
There are various payment options:

You pay your tuition fee yourself in full by digital direct debit.

You authorise Zuyd University to deduct the tuition fee in full (= all at once) from your account by means of the digital direct debit authorisation [machtiging] option in Studielink. The tuition fee will be deducted from your account on about 27 September. Important:

  • The digital direct debit option is only possible if you have a bank or giro account in a “SEPA” country.*
  • The guide (pdf) gives more information

You pay your tuition fee yourself in instalments by digital direct debit.
You authorise Zuyd University to deduct the tuition fee from your account in instalments by means of the digital direct debit authorisation [machtiging] option in Studielink. Important:

  • The digital direct debit option is only possible if you have a bank or giro account in a "SEPA" country.*
  • You will be charged € 24 (once only) for administration costs; this will be deducted with the first instalment.
  • Each instalment will be deducted about the 27th of each month (from September to June inclusive).
  • The guide (pdf) gives more information.

Someone else pays the tuition fee for you by digital direct debit.
Someone else – for example one of your parents – authorises Zuyd University to deduct the tuition fee from his/her account, either in full (= all at once) or in  instalments.

Important:

  • This only possible if the person concerned has a bank or giro account in a SEPA country* and also has a DigiD.
  • The guide (pdf) gives more information.

What happens if you do not have a bank or giro account in a SEPA country?*
If you do not have a bank or giro account in a SEPA country*, you cannot pay by means of a digital direct debit authorisation [machtiging] or in instalments. You will need to transfer the full tuition fee all at once. You must pay the whole amount into Zuyd University’s bank account before 1 September. You should pay in good time because international payments often take longer. The tuition fee should be paid to the following account:

IBAN: NL 62 RABO 0311 0781 33
BIC: RABONL2U
Rabobank, Croeselaan 18, 3521 CB  Utrecht, Netherlands

Responsibility for payment
Payments may sometimes be processed incorrectly. For example, the money that you need to pay may not in fact be deducted from your account. Even if that happens, you are still responsible for paying your tuition fee. In such cases, you should contact the university’s financial department immediately.

* The SEPA countries are all EU countries and also Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, and Switzerland.
